It’s shocking, but it’s the truth. A home listed in the winter sells faster – and for more money – than a listing at any other time of the year.
Yes, you hear that from virtually every real estate agent you speak to at this time of the year. But now, there’s statistical data to prove that the winter months are, in fact, the best months in which to sell your home.
Selling in the winter is a great idea.
Fact: a home listed in the winter months is 9% more likely to sell. As well, it sells one week faster than other times of the year and for 1.2% more.*
The reason for that is two-fold. First, people who are out shopping for a home at this time of the year are more serious than other buyers – they likely need to buy a home because of a job relocation, birth of a child, major family change, etc. As such they’re out looking intently . ...
